As a primary purpose, Starter allows one to view and manage all the programs that are starting automatically whenever operating system is loading. Autoruns v. 9.13 (www.sysinternals.com):
autoruns, which has the most comprehensive knowledge of auto-starting locations of any startup monitor, shows you what programs are configured to run during system bootup or login, and shows you the entries in the order Windows processes them. CurrPorts v. 1.31 (www.nirsoft.net)
CurrPorts displays the list of all currently opened TCP/IP and UDP ports on your local computer. For each port in the list, information about the process that opened the port is also displayed, including the process name, full path of the process, version information of the process (product name, file description, and so on), the time that the process was created, and the user that created it.
In addition, CurrPorts allows you to close unwanted TCP connections, kill the process that opened the ports, and save the TCP/UDP ports information to HTML file , XML file, or to tab-delimited text file.
CurrPorts also automatically mark with pink color suspicious TCP/UDP ports owned by unidentified applications (Applications without version information and icons).
If you want to get more information about the remote IP address displayed in CurrPorts utility, you can utilize the Integration with IPNetInfo utility in order to easily view the IP address information from WHOIS servers.

Shell Extensions are in-process COM objects which extends the abilities of Windows operating system. Most shell extensions are automatically installed by the operating system, but there are also many other applications that install additional shell extension components. For example: If you install WinZip on your computer, you'll see a special WinZip menu when you right-click on a Zip file. This menu is created by adding a shell extension to the system.
The ShellExView utility displays the details of shell extensions installed on your computer, and allows you to easily disable and enable each shell extension.

Keyfinder Thing 3.1.6
KeyFinder Thing is a simple utility to retrieve the Serial numbers or CD Keys of Microsoft software installed on your system.

Keyfinder Thing Lite 1.10
As for Lite version, its smaller! (50kb) and you don't need to have .NET 2.0 FX installed. But it doesn't have the features of the full version. Its basic and to the point now and the only dependancy is MSVBVM60.dll. Most of computers nowadays has MSVBVM60.dll
System Requirments: Any 32bit Windows OS that hasn't .NET 2.0 FX installed.

Saving updates on a local drive is rather difficult for users. The updates are immediately removed after installation. This is not convenient and you will have to download the update pack again if you wish to patch any other computers with the same version.
WUtool will solve this problem. It's a small freeware software (255 KB only).
Launch the program, then go to the menu and click File > Windows Update.
WUtool will take control of the download and save the patches to a special folder on your hard drive. Updating your operating system with this program is very simple.
It works on Windows 2000/XP/2003.

RegShot v1.7
We downloaders tend do a lot of installing and uninstalling, increasing the likelihood of something unsavory happening to our registries. RegShot lets you take a snapshot of your registry, then compare it with a later snapshot. This could be after making system changes or installing new software, for example. A list is then made of all the modifications that have taken place between the first snapshot and the second. You can specify folders (with sub-folders) to be scanned for changes, too. The report can be produced in text or HTML format.
It's a small freeware software (107 KB only).

One of the limitations of the Windows NT/2000 defragmentation interface is that it is not possible to defragment files that are open for exclusive access. Thus, standard defragmentation programs can neither show you how fragmented your paging files or Registry hives are, nor defragment them. Paging and Registry file fragmentation can be one of the leading causes of performance degradation related to file fragmentation in a system.
Pagedefrag uses advanced techniques to provide you what commercial defragmenters cannot: the ability for you to see how fragmented your paging files and Registry hives are, and to defragment them. In addition, it defragments event log files and Windows 2000/XP hibernation files (where system memory is saved when you hibernate a laptop).
