Description:
Agentsvr or agentsvr.exe is a ActiveX control, which is used by multimedia applications, that helps software developers to add character animation to their software or web pages, text to speech facilities, or end-user voice commands capability.

In layman terms it is Microsoft software which other programmers can use to talk to you, display a talking animated character, or listen to voice commands from you. The most famous of those animated characters is that paper clip Microsoft Office assistant which most users turn off.

This process is a Windows compound and accounts for ActiveX functioning. It is vital for the operation of a wide range of multimedia applications, that is why it is not recommended to terminate the process unless absolutely necessary.

This program is a non-essential system process, but should not be terminated unless suspected to be causing problems.

Note: General rule
Any malware can be named anything - so you should check where the files of the running processes are located on your disk. If a non-Microsoft.exe file is located in the C:\Windows or C:\Windows\System32 folder, then there is a high risk for a virus, spyware, trojan or worm infection!
