Wisptis.exe (\Windows\System32).
This executable runs as a system service that provides pen-data collection for other components of the SDK. When a component needs to interact with the pen (for example, to collect ink or to detect gestures), this executable is spawned as a service to communicate directly with the input device. On a Tablet PC, wisptis.exe interacts with the digitizer, whereas on a desktop it interacts with the mouse as well. The executable’s name is an acronym that references an outdated internal name for the team that developed it (Windows Ink Services Platform Tablet Input Subsystem).

Pero' Wisptis non e' solamente importante per il corretto funzionamento della penna ottica su di un tablet pc; e' stato infatti analizzato che viene installato anche insieme a Microsoft Office ed insieme a molti pacchetti di Windows Update; ma non solo, questo processo lavora molto anche con Windows ink services, spesso con Adobe Acrobat Reader, ed e' collegato a MS journal viewer.

Riassumendo, per quanto visto Wisptis non e' un programma fondamentale per il funzionamento di Windows, ma, visto con quanti software interagisce, disabilitarlo, terminarlo o eliminarlo da il dubbio che possa essere causa di problemi.
Oltretutto non e' un processo che attinge a particolari risorse al computer.

Ma attenzione, e' di FONDAMENTALE importanza che il processo Wisptis, se presente, sia collocato nella cartella \Windows\System32.
Infatti alcuni virus, spyware, trojan o worm si camuffano nelle cartelle del computer con il nome di questo file per eseguire i loro malefici scopi.
