Graphical Boot Manager (GAG) 4.6 (gag.sourceforge.net):
GAG (initials, in spanish, of Graphical Boot Manager) is a Boot Manager program. It's loaded when the computer is turned on and allows you to choose the operating system you want to use.
Its main features are:
Allows boot of up to 9 different operating systems.
It can boot operating systems installed in primary and extended partitions on any available hard disk.
Can be installed from nearly all operating systems.
GAG doesn't need its own partition. It installs itself in the first track of the hard disk, wich is reserved for these kinds of programs. It can also be instaled on a floppy disk, without using the hard disk.
It has a timer to boot a default operating system (selectable by the user).
The configuration menu can be protected with a password.
The program works in graphic mode (needs a VGA or better graphic card), and has a lot of icons.
Hides the primary partitions which allows the user to have instaled more than one DOS and/or Windows in the same hard disk.
Allows a password to be put on each operating system, denying access to non-authorized people.
Allows the boot manager text to be translated to all languages.
Can exchange disk drives, allowing to boot from the second, third... hard disk operating systems such as MS-DOS.
Has the SafeBoot system, that allows to boot your hard disk even if GAG is accidentally overwrited.
Supports a great variety of keyboards (QWERTY, AZERTY, QWERTZ and DVORAK keyboards).
Fully support for hard disks up to 4 terabytes (4096 gigabytes).
Full version and free software (distributed under GPL licence, with source code).
It works on Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows NT, Linux, BeOS, Windows XP. File size: 421 KB.

Startex hides in the upper left corner of your desktop, and reveals a small yellow button when your mouse touches the edge of the screen.
Clicking the button reveals a customizable drop menu that lets you launch your favorite programs, organized in categories.

Free virtual CD ROM for Windows XP 2.1
Free virtual cd rom for Windows XP 2.1 lets you create a virtual CD drive on your hard disk. For anyone unfamiliar with the terms virtual CD or CD emulator, they mean that you can copy the entire contents of a CD-ROM to your hard disk and run the programs or access the files without the need for the original CD. This can make files more accessible, faster and more convenient. Given the speed and size of today's hard drives, you could easily fit a number of CDs onto your hard drive without noticing the difference. Assuming you had 30 full CDs, these would take around 20GB on a hard drive and all will be accessible after a few clicks of a mouse.
Hard drives are about 10 times faster than a CD, plus you can instantly access the file instead of grabbing the CD case, inserting the CD and awaiting for the contents to load. It's true, you could try copying the files over to the hard drive, but this can get messy, plus some programs require a CD to be loaded in order to run. This virtual CD program 'pretends' it is a CD drive (even though the files are on your hard drive), so your programs will run as normal.
It works on Windows XP. File size: 59,6 KB.
